A fiction is a deliberately fabricated account
of something. It can also be a literary work based on imagination rather than on fact, like a novel or short story.

This historical-fiction novel written
in 1992 chronicles
the lives of late 18th Dynasty Egypt, those of Tutankhamun and his wife, Queen
Ankhesenamun. An Excerpt: Commander Horemhab sat anxiously and impatiently on
the floor of his chariot, waiting for an answer. The royal troops had aligned
the entrance of the Nubian camp and several scouts were patrolling in and out
of the enemy head-quarters, looking for their leader. A single chariot of
Nubian craftsmanship, originally stolen from Egyptian garrisons and modified to
meet their standards, shifted the desert sands behind it as the chariot entered
through an unprotected gap in the Egyptian wall of horses. A proud announcement
saluted the commander from afar, and this caused him to rise from his seat. It
was Tutankhamon. Excited, Horemhab shouted to the sky in adoration of the god
Horus, relieved that his prayers had been answered. Horemhab exalted his
comrades over the news. Ay was the first to respond. "It couldn't be him;
that charioteer looks nothing like Tutankhamon." Tut removed his wig and
Ay looked closer. "Oh my god." Copyright

A Trolled Review on Amazon:
This is a self-published book written
in the early 90s and published in the 2000s. It's pretty full of itself and
pretentious in that sense, not to mention woefully historically inaccurate due to those dates.
It is not very well written, I bought it used thank
goodness, paying full price for this dreck would be sad. The formatting is
off-putting and sloppy, the characters aren't well written, it just has an air
of "no one helped me write this." In fact it ends with the author
thanking no one and providing no
research sources. What a surprise.
Alright lets start this.
The dialogue is stiff and lacking in creativity, for
example: "I don't like to see the tears fall from your lovely eyes. That makes
me feel upset." If you've ever taken a creative writing class or had an
editor, you would know that you don't have characters exclaim their emotions so
poorly.
One section just jumps to another with a simple three
word sentence: "some months passed." Everything is just so poorly
paced! "-led by his wife into the celebration already in progress"
THE VERY NEXT PARAGRAPH AND SENTENCE: "later, the celebration
dwindled." We as the audience and reader get nothing.
I could be an editor on this for hours it's just so
bad. Half of it is so funny though due to its problems, there's a scene where
characters fight for not even five sentences and it ends with, "this
action resulted in a large quarrel, which left Tut disadvantaged and
powerless." Then: "meanwhile Queen Tiye died." I can't- I am not
even joking.
Not to mention the complete lack of detail involving
anything Egyptian. No gods are explained, no rituals are explained, no nothing.
There is detail but it picks and chooses when to do so and even then its only
in item descriptions and speech. One character used “totally”, this book is a
hot mess. Some gods are given Greek names, some names are horribly misspelled.
Just...ugh.
The book is written from the view of Tut's soul, so
that way the writer can info dump random current historical nonsense that rips
you out of the story. This is also how the story ends, with Tut's soul watching
history unfold cause the author loves Carter so much. Also, the book is called
“Ankhesenamun: Queen of Egypt” yet it’s about Tut and his spirit. Just...why???
I love ancient Egypt and I picked up this book for my
collection as it's a very niche genre, I did so that no one else has to do the
same. Do yourself a favor and skip this book, as others have put in more
thought and care into their writing that are worth a read.
This author needs a reality check, using his “mystical
connection“ to write is just insulting.
