The role of Magic in Ancient Egyptian Temples...

About the role of Magic in Ancient Egyptian Religion ©M7C 2024

Religion in Ancient Egypt (KMT) did not involve preaching or excessive religious teachings as found in later Monotheism.  So there was practically no discourse.  Prayer to the Gods was aided with their stories, but the stories did not form a basis for the religion.  Prayers in later religions like Christianity require the story element.

Magic was the driving force in Ancient Egypt.  Magic Spells are found inside coffins (Mummy cases) for the Soul to read after death, and this is enabled in their afterlife.  Spells such as Offering Lists are found on the exterior of coffins, so people visiting the Ka Chapel of the tomb would read them.  Tombs were open to the Public back then.  They were later closed following periods of Civil Unrest or looting from weak Govt. control.   Spells are also found on Ka Trays (Food trays carved with a two-armed Ka engraving) for the Ka Chapel, on individual Stele monuments and obelisks, and in stationary Tomb elements.

Today I use Social Media “Temples” for appeasing the Egyptian Deities.  Every week I add shared content, music or videos or images, of offerings to each Temple.  Afterwards the associated attributes per each Deity is revealed in the News – if a Temple of Tefnut has offerings, she allows Rain or storms, if a Temple of Sakhmet is offered, healing is possible, or to Amon-Ra one receives economic prosperity, wind and sunlight, or liberation.   People may join a Temple, nothing is expected of them.  People may pray to the Gods if they wish.  These are not “cults” or “new religious movements.”  The Gods have been around for thousands of years.  People may also buy my assorted Egyptian Magic books and cause events by reading the heavily-charged Magic Spells.  Donations help maintain the Temples.
