Why?
In Ancient Egypt, one had to perform rituals correctly, and
if those rituals were not followed exactly, the Sun would not rise the next
morning. The people were told this by
the Priests. The religion was based
partly on Science, and the view was Geocentric: the Sun revolved around the Earth,
having been “born” in the morning (Via Caesarean Section by the Creator, Ptah),
lived through the day and died in the evening, then battled its way through the
Underworld until rebirth the next morning.
The life cycle of a person was based on the solar example above.
Of course, Modern Science ruined the religion of Ancient
Egypt with Heliocentric knowledge. The Magic system of Ancient Egypt still works, if you don’t
believe in the religious affiliation or stories relating to the decadent
Science of the times. Technological
ideas are preserved in their artifacts, of course, and can be sources of
inspiration today.
