With Amazon's Print-on-Demand Books, the books are printed when ordered so there is no reason to stock them as with Traditional Publishers, who print "1000 copies" and have to store them before stocking shelves in "brick and mortar" bookstores. You can print "one copy" or in bulk. If you buy them in bulk this is ideal for donations to libraries or Universities. Amazon doesn't charge anything to publish compared to "vanity publishers" other than buying copies. Marketing is extra. Or you can publish electronic books (e-books) for free. POD books also allow for reprints from traditional publishers if you have book rights or an original file (.pdf). For cover designs either upload one from your PC or make one using stock images. You also set a Royalty amount based on images and book size or length; the Royalty amount is calculated based on price. Authors receive about 1/3 of the book price as profits. A $10 book is about $2 in Royalties. Remember that any annual profit over the threshold ($399+) is Taxable in USA. Please buy books to support local authors. Mahalo =)
