Don't believe in the hype: online Publishing Scams.

Online Publishing Scams that seek to make a film from an unknown or self-published Author from cold-calling or emailing the Author are Fraudulent. They keep calling us or emailing this rubbish. The alleged address to “Lions-gate Productions” is for lease according to the property website, so no letters sent there will be received. The representative is named after a real employee of the real Lions-Gate company. The website from the email # is fictional (.net not .com). The email doesn’t mention the Book’s name that they want to make into a film, and Netflix isn’t going anywhere. Plus the company wants the Author to spend $$ on items, usually a book Agent would know about. 5% proceeds is too cheap.

We would like to inform you that your book has been selected as one of the Content Titles that we would like to translate into a film. As we have expanded our horizon in lieu of our partnership with Netflix, we would like to inform you that we are offering you a contract for a film rights acquisition as one of our pioneering projects. The budget and the Production Team are now ready for the project to commence. The producer has allocated an estimated budget for the film production of $25M with 5% of the budget going to the author.

We are looking to start the filming by the first quarter of next year to give enough time until the screenplay is completed.

Please note that the author will be under exclusive contract with our company. Any information about this project will be under a non-disclosure clause stipulated in the contract. As the author representing the rights owner and Lionsgate Productions as the acquirer, you will be required to process all the licenses, permits, and registrations; also with signing of documents exclusively with Lionsgate Productions to obtain an immediate transfer. A separate contract between your agency and Lionsgate will be signed and agreed upon by both parties. We will send the paperworks with the film agreement to your office upon your confirmation. We would be requiring you to send the following materials:

1. Film Pitch Deck

2. Cinematic Trailer

3. Marketing Evaluation

We need your confirmation as soon as possible. Thank you!

Any unsolicited emails or calls from the writer/author will not be entertained by Lions Gate Productions. I believe in reincarnation to comprehend future actions as based on past life actions, and direction in one's life. I believe my past life visits to Egypt influence and inspire me with their culture. My first publisher (1992) was a Psychologist at CSU Hayward/East Bay in California; she believed my fictional first novel was about real information, as did the US Government and NSA/CIA. When she published it she sold some $50M in as yet unpaid royalties, and when I alerted the Govt. about this, they confiscated it from her and paid me nothing, then asked a terror group (AQ) if "any American knew of their plans for global conquest" and started harassing Iran about their "Nuclear weapons" issues (Chapter 20-21). I researched Ancient Egypt prior to writing Eye of the Pharaoh (c.1990, 1995), I had read about 12 non-fiction books for that project. Content appears in the film, The Mummy Returns. The publisher died in 2020 from brain Cancer.
