Slavery in the Ancient World

The Truth about Slavery in the Ancient World

The Pyramids were built by laborers who also were Farmers during Flood Season to prevent idleness and Civil Unrest.  For most of the year there was no rain in the desert climate.  When it did rain the Nile Flooded, forcing Farmers to stop working in the fields along the banks of the River; so they needed something to do to keep them out of trouble.  So they built Massive Pyramids, Tombs, and Temples.  These Laborers did not work for free --- they were paid in food, drink, clothing, medical care and shelter.

Hollywood’s image of the Laborers and the events in the Bible have poisoned the Minds of Blacks/African-Americans and Jewish/Muslim people against Egypt into wanting to damage such monuments.  Akhenaton, regarded as the First Monotheist, used Forced Labor to build his City.  Forced Labor is not slavery.  It is labor by demand.
Slavery in Egypt and later Rome was an Economic or Religious position.  If people owe Debts they became Slaves to pay off the debt.  If people wanted to serve a Goddess they became a Temple Slave of their own Free Will.  Slavery in Rome was a Class of Citizenregardless of Race or Ethnicity.  Slaves were also captured Prisoners of War, and given by a defeated army to Pharaoh as Tribute.

Today the Necktie is a symbol of Capitalism, the yoke of Corporate Slavery.   If you are arrested you become a Slave in Prison, forced to make things like License Plates, also a symbol of Slavery.  If people rebel, are you going to stop making License Plates or wear neckties? Are you going to stop buying Cotton – the main crop that American Slaves produced in the Colonial Period?  USA Currency (Dollars) are constructed of Flax and Cotton – are you going to stop using Dollars due to its Association with Slavery?
