Ritual Boats in canals helped build Khufu (Cheops) Pyramid?

Did the Egyptians create a canal and a port to bring stone to the Great Pyramid?

Archaeologist Mark Lehner says he’s found evidence of a port next to the pyramids, which would solve one of the mysteries of how heavy stone blocks were transported. The photo-montage shows current landmarks and the footprint of ancient settlements.

-- Okay,  but there are Ritual Boats buried next to the Great Pyramid at Giza.  Archaeologists also said these were for Night Boat Rituals.  I say (Mike Costa) the Ritual Boats helped carry the stone blocks on these canals (Canals were the Egyptian's Super Highway then), as the boats are large enough to do so, then buried next to the monument once completed. The boats have no other physical purpose.
