Ancient Story Marketing

Story Marketing existed in Ancient Egypt as it does today in USA.

Count the number of Idols, Mummy cases, Statues, Amulets, etc. found in Ancient Egyptian tombs related to the Stories about Osiris and other Egyptian Gods.  Now count the number of Modern toys or models or action figures, computer games, posters, etc. from Modern Films or Stories.  Marketing helps spread the messages contained in the stories, usually aimed towards children.  Christians marketed the NT/Bible with statues of Mary, stained-glass windows, coins bearing the "image" of Christ, and the calendar dating system / Weekend, and frequent references to future events in relation to Biblical Prophecies.  Science Fiction films market stories to adults and children; adult costumes, collector's items, comic books/graphic novels, images on products related to the films, etc. exist for that purpose.   Religious characters can also "talk to people" to market the stories. In Ancient Egypt "Priests" wore costumes of the Gods in ceremonies related to the stories, in a form of Dramatic Theater in the Temples.  Priests of Anubis wore a mask of the Jackal god and held the Mummy in funeral drama performances.  Egyptian "funerals" were Dramatic Performances with Priests as their actors in the Temples; the Lector Priest (Kheri-hebs) were the Play's director and narrator.  This idea later spread to Ancient Greece.
