Well the Pestilence Spell works.  It just needed energy and a purpose.

For increased bravery or courage:

For invisibility, illusion (works at right-angles):

To relieve skin conditions, acne, blemishes:

DUA ISHTAR ARQU IMHOTEP SONEB-ANKH

The idea is if Magic causes something, it should also fix it.  

You just need to believe that it can. Also poking around the secret chamber of an Egyptian Pharaoh is unwise especially if it leads to his beloved wife's tomb, that of Queen Ankhsnamon (not her mother, Nefertiti).  So the Pestilence is a Curse of Protection against that idea... Long Live Tut-ankh-Amon Neb-kheperu-Ra and his Queen Ankhsnamon of Upper and Lower Kemti / Egypt!
